Tint Solutions sets the standard for residential window film in Southern California and Middle Tennessee. We carry premium architectural films only, every one of them with a lifetime warranty, in shades from virtually clear through to 5% light transmission. Heat, glare, fading and privacy are four different problems and they do not all want the same film.
Control solar heat gain
Avery Dennison DR OptiTune, our go-to solar control film, rejects up to 84% of solar heat, and our premium spectrally selective film, SPe Lite 70, is virtually clear and still blocks 52%. That lowers cooling bills, takes strain off the HVAC system, and makes the room at the west end of the house usable again in the afternoon.
99% UV rejection on every film
Every residential film we carry blocks 99% or more of UV-A and UV-B. That protects hardwood floors, rugs, art and furniture from fading, and it protects the people sitting next to the glass — window film is recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation as a UV protection measure.
Up to 93% less glare
Glare is the complaint that brings most people to us, even when they describe it as heat. Cutting most of it means televisions and monitors are readable through the afternoon without closing the house up.
Removable, and warranted for life
Needs change. Every residential film we install can be removed cleanly later without damaging the glass. While it is up, it is covered for life against bubbling, peeling, cracking, delamination and color change.
Questions
What people ask us about this.
Will the film look mirrored from outside?
Only if you pick a mirror film like R Silver. DR OptiTune has a soft reflective look from outside and low reflection inside, so the room still looks natural. SPe Lite 70 is virtually clear from both sides. Mirror films exist because some people want the daytime privacy, but they are a choice, not a default.
Does window film interfere with phone or Wi-Fi signal?
In most homes it makes no noticeable difference. If signal in a particular room matters to you, tell us when we measure and we will take it into account when we specify the film.
How soon can I clean the windows afterwards?
Leave them for 30 days while the mounting solution fully cures, then clean normally with any non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth. A little haze or a few small water pockets in the first few weeks are normal and clear on their own.
Can film go on dual-pane windows?
Yes, on the great majority of them. Dual-pane glass does need the film specified against the glass type to avoid thermal stress, which is part of what we check when we measure.
Is there a warranty on the labor as well as the film?
Yes. The manufacturer warrants the film for life on residential work and we warrant our installation. If something is wrong with how it went on, we come back and put it right.
