Terms & conditions
The terms that apply to every Tint Solutions proposal and installation.
Effective Date: January 1, 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to proposals, estimates, invoices, work orders, and services provided by Tint Solutions Inc. (“Tint Solutions”). By approving a proposal, authorizing work, or permitting Tint Solutions to begin work, the customer acknowledges and agrees to these Terms & Conditions, subject to any rights that cannot legally be waived.
1. Scope of Work
Tint Solutions will provide the products and services specifically described in the approved proposal, estimate, work order, or written change order.
Work, materials, removal, preparation, access equipment, repairs, or other services not specifically included in the approved scope may result in additional charges if requested or required to complete the project.
Any material change to the scope of work will be communicated to the customer and documented as required by applicable law.
2. Deposits, Materials & Scheduling
A deposit may be required before materials are ordered or an installation date is confirmed, subject to applicable law. Deposits will be applied toward the total project price.
Special-order, custom-cut, pre-cut, allocated, or otherwise project-specific materials may be non-refundable to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Installation dates are subject to material availability, weather, job-site conditions, customer access, equipment availability, and circumstances reasonably outside Tint Solutions’ control.
Scheduled appointments may include an approximately one-hour arrival window.
3. Final Payment & Past-Due Balances
Unless otherwise agreed to in writing, the remaining project balance is due in full upon completion of the work.
Any undisputed balance remaining unpaid more than fifteen (15) days after it becomes due may be subject to a late fee, finance charge, or interest at the maximum rate permitted by applicable law, accruing from the date the balance became past due until paid in full.
Tint Solutions may, at its sole discretion, waive or reduce any late fee, finance charge, or interest without waiving its right to enforce these payment terms on any other invoice, balance, or future project.
The customer remains responsible for amounts properly due for completed work regardless of any separate manufacturer warranty claim.
4. Cancellations & Rescheduling
If a project is canceled or materially changed after materials have been ordered, cut, allocated, or otherwise prepared specifically for the project, the customer may be responsible for reasonable material, shipping, mobilization, or other costs already incurred, subject to applicable law.
Same-day cancellations, inaccessible job sites, or cancellations after Tint Solutions personnel have begun traveling to the project may result in a reasonable trip or rescheduling charge where permitted by law.
Nothing in this section limits any statutory cancellation rights available to the customer.
5. Customer Responsibilities & Job-Site Access
The customer is responsible for providing Tint Solutions with reasonable and safe access to all areas included in the project.
Unless otherwise agreed, customers should remove fragile, valuable, or sensitive items from the immediate work area and provide reasonable access to windows before installation.
The customer is responsible for informing Tint Solutions of known leaks, damaged glass, specialty glass, coatings, prior window-film installations, glazing problems, or other unusual conditions that could affect the work.
6. Existing Glass & Glazing Conditions
Window film is installed onto an existing glass and glazing system that Tint Solutions generally did not manufacture, supply, or install.
Existing glass may contain conditions that cannot reasonably be identified through normal visual inspection, including scratches, chips, damaged edges, inclusions, fabrication debris, stress fractures, seal deterioration, coating defects, manufacturing defects, improper glazing, frame defects, or other weaknesses.
Tint Solutions will exercise reasonable professional care when evaluating the application and will select window film based on information reasonably available concerning the glass, Tint Solutions’ professional experience, and applicable manufacturer film-to-glass compatibility guidelines.
Glass can nevertheless break or fail for reasons unrelated to the workmanship of the window-film installation. These may include thermal stress, spontaneous breakage, manufacturing defects, nickel sulfide inclusions, pre-existing damage, damaged glass edges, building movement, glazing-system deficiencies, environmental conditions, prior modifications, or other concealed conditions.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Tint Solutions is not responsible for glass breakage, cracking, insulated-glass seal failure, spontaneous breakage, or other glazing failure caused by pre- existing conditions, manufacturing defects, concealed conditions, prior damage, building or glazing conditions, or other circumstances outside Tint Solutions’ reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude responsibility that applicable law does not permit Tint Solutions to exclude.
7. Existing Film Installed by Others
Removal of existing window film presents additional risks, particularly when the existing film was not originally supplied and installed by Tint Solutions.
When film was installed by another contractor, property owner, previous owner, or other third party, Tint Solutions cannot verify the film manufacturer, product type, age, adhesive, original installation method, film-to-glass compatibility, condition of the glass before the original installation, previous thermal exposure, or installation quality.
Existing film may also conceal scratches, chips, cracks, damaged glass edges, coating damage, seal deterioration, thermal stress, or other defects.
By authorizing Tint Solutions to remove film installed by another party, the customer acknowledges and accepts that these unknown and pre-existing conditions may exist.
Tint Solutions will exercise reasonable care when removing existing film. However, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Tint Solutions will not be responsible for glass breakage, cracking, insulated-glass seal failure, coating failure, or other glazing damage resulting from pre-existing conditions, concealed defects, previous film installation, previous film-to-glass incompatibility, prior thermal stress, deterioration, or other conditions that existed before Tint Solutions began its work.
If Tint Solutions determines that removal or continued work presents an unreasonable risk to the glass or surrounding property, Tint Solutions may stop work and discuss available options with the customer.
8. Film-to-Glass Compatibility
Tint Solutions evaluates window-film applications using professional experience, information reasonably available about the glazing system, and applicable manufacturer film-to-glass compatibility recommendations.
Tint Solutions does not manufacture the existing glass and cannot independently verify every characteristic, coating, treatment, defect, installation condition, or aspect of its history.
Where the glass type or construction cannot reasonably be determined, Tint Solutions may recommend an alternative product, request additional information or testing, or decline to install a particular film.
9. Window Film Appearance & Curing
Architectural window film is a field-applied product.
Immediately following installation, film may temporarily exhibit haze, cloudiness, moisture pockets, small water bubbles, or other effects associated with the mounting solution and curing process. These conditions generally diminish as the film dries.
Curing time varies depending on the film, temperature, humidity, sun exposure, glass construction, and season and may take several days or weeks.
Minor visual imperfections may occur because architectural film is installed in a real-world environment rather than a controlled manufacturing facility. Finished installations will be evaluated according to applicable manufacturer guidelines and reasonable industry standards.
10. Pre-Existing Scratches & Defects
Installation or removal of window film can make existing scratches, fabrication debris, stains, glass distortion, coating defects, mineral deposits, or other conditions more noticeable.
Tint Solutions is not responsible for pre-existing defects that become visible or more noticeable after film installation or removal.
11. Safety & Security Film
Safety and security window films and attachment systems are designed to help hold broken glass together and may increase resistance to impact or forced entry depending upon the product, glass, frame, attachment system, and installation configuration.
No window film or attachment system makes glass unbreakable or guarantees prevention of entry, injury, burglary, impact damage, explosion damage, storm damage, or other loss.
Performance depends upon numerous factors outside Tint Solutions’ control, including the existing glass, frame construction, building construction, type and direction of impact, attachment system, and surrounding conditions.
12. Exterior Film & Environmental Exposure
Exterior-installed films are exposed to weather and environmental conditions that can affect their appearance and service life.
Damage or deterioration caused by improper cleaning, abrasive materials, chemicals, pressure washing, sprinklers, hard-water deposits, mineral buildup, salt exposure, landscaping chemicals, construction activity, or other environmental conditions outside Tint Solutions’ control is not considered an installation defect.
13. Manufacturer Warranties
Manufacturer warranties are provided by the applicable product manufacturer and remain subject to that manufacturer's requirements, exclusions, limitations, and claims procedures.
Tint Solutions does not independently expand, alter, or guarantee a manufacturer's warranty unless specifically stated in writing.
Applicable Tint Solutions workmanship warranty coverage and assistance with manufacturer warranty claims are subject to the project being completed and amounts properly due being paid in full, except where prohibited by applicable law.
14. Workmanship
Tint Solutions will perform its installation services in a professional manner consistent with reasonable industry practices.
If the customer believes an installation-related workmanship issue exists, the customer should notify Tint Solutions within a reasonable period and provide Tint Solutions an opportunity to inspect and, when appropriate, correct the condition before third-party repair or replacement work is performed.
15. Cleaning & Maintenance
Customers are responsible for following the applicable manufacturer's care and cleaning recommendations after installation.
Blades, scrapers, abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, stiff brushes, or other unsuitable cleaning methods can permanently damage window film and may void applicable warranty coverage.
16. Changes & Additional Work
Customer-requested changes after proposal approval may affect project pricing, materials, and scheduling.
Additional work or material changes will be communicated and documented as required by applicable law.
17. Unforeseen Conditions
Tint Solutions may pause affected work if concealed damage, unsafe conditions, defective glazing, hazardous materials, inaccessible areas, structural conditions, electrical hazards, or other circumstances materially different from those reasonably anticipated are discovered.
Additional labor, materials, equipment, or return trips resulting from unforeseen conditions may result in additional charges when authorized as required by applicable law.
18. Delays Outside Tint Solutions’ Control
Tint Solutions is not responsible for reasonable delays caused by material shortages, shipping delays, weather, building access restrictions, other trades, equipment failure, manufacturer delays, emergencies, governmental actions, or other circumstances reasonably outside Tint Solutions’ control.
19. Project Photography
Tint Solutions may photograph work for project documentation, warranty administration, quality control, training, portfolio, and marketing purposes.
Tint Solutions will make reasonable efforts not to intentionally disclose confidential customer information.
Customers who do not want photographs of their project used for marketing purposes may notify Tint Solutions in writing before installation.
20. Limitation of Responsibility
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Tint Solutions is responsible for direct damage caused by its negligent acts or omissions while performing the contracted work but is not responsible for pre-existing conditions, concealed defects, manufacturing defects, failures of products or building components manufactured or installed by others, or losses resulting from circumstances outside Tint Solutions’ reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive or limit any right, remedy, responsibility, or liability that applicable law does not permit to be waived or limited.
21. Entire Agreement
These Terms & Conditions, together with the approved proposal, applicable written change orders, and other documents expressly incorporated into the agreement, constitute the parties’ agreement concerning the work.
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be unenforceable or conflicts with a mandatory requirement of applicable law, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
22. Acceptance
By approving a Tint Solutions proposal or otherwise authorizing Tint Solutions to perform the work, the customer acknowledges that they have been provided an opportunity to review these Terms & Conditions and agrees that they are incorporated into the agreement, subject to all applicable statutory rights and required disclosures.
