Tinted Security Window Film

Tinted security film is a thick safety laminate with solar control built in. Like clear security film, it holds broken glass together in the frame. At the same time it cuts heat, glare and UV, so glass that needs both protection and sun control gets it from one film and one installation.

It holds the glass, it does not make it unbreakable

No film makes glass unbreakable. Hit hard enough, the glass will break. What security film does is hold the broken pieces together and in the frame, which slows down anyone trying to get through and keeps a broken pane from turning into flying glass.

Two jobs, one film

A storefront facing the afternoon sun needs heat and glare control. The same storefront needs protection from smash-and-grab. Instead of paying for two installations, a tinted security film handles both.

What we install

Avery Dennison R Silver 20 Safety, a reflective silver safety film available in 4 mil and 9 mil, and Avery Dennison NT PerLite Ceramic 35 for Safety, a neutral grey safety film available in 6 mil and 10 mil. Thicker film adds strength; we recommend the thickness based on the glass and the risk.

Anchored to the frame where it matters

For higher-risk openings we can anchor the film to the frame, so the whole pane stays in place instead of being pushed through in one piece. We will tell you when your glass warrants it.
